The British Grand Prix at Silverstone

The days of two heliports in the centre of the race circuit and passengers being transported by Puma may be over, but that did not stop PremiAir enjoying the busiest British Grand Prix for over a decade at Silverstone last week. Operating fifteen twin engine executive helicopters, PremiAir transferred over 370 guests to and from the event from Denham, Oxford, the London Heliport and several private addresses.

The main hangar at Denham was transformed into a mini version of the Paddock Club, with corporate guests enjoying a champagne breakfast prior to departure. The flight time to Silverstone from Denham is around 30 minutes, and passengers were treated to a spectacular view of the track, the newly built grandstands and revamped Paddock Club facility, prior to landing at the relocated Silverstone heliport. Upon arrival every guest was handled by PremiAir staff through a dedicated terminal before being transferred to the Paddock Club in complimentary Audi shuttle cars.

Even the showery weather could not dampen spirits, and passengers returning to the PremiAir terminal at the end of each day were treated to impromptu appearances by TV presenters, racing drivers, a spot of royalty and motor racing legends, many of whom were happy to sign the odd autograph and offer a handshake or photo appearance.

PremiAir's guests included main sponsors, an F1 team, several drivers, TV presenters and journalists. Bookings are already being accepted for the British Grand Prix 2012.
